TERORRISM TAKES CHARGE...

THIS ARTICLE IS PART OF MY FORTNIGHTLY COLUMN, Sedition and Perdition, PUBLISHED IN THE NEW INDIAN EXPRESS (www.expressbuzz.com)

THIS PIECE IS LARGELY DERIVED FROM A SECTION IN MY BOOK, THE SPIRITUAL SUPERMARKET.

From A Secret Den, November 27, 2002: “Who the hell is Politics?” demands Terrorist, ready with a volume of historic data, stories and perceptions at his disposal.

“Politics used violence to rule, to grab power, to create Monarchy, Communism, Dictatorship and Democracy, the rule by popular deceit. They grabbed control over Weapons, spread Oppression in every form… and caused the success of War. How are we different from Politics in its establishing moments?”

Religious Fundamentalist sits silently, nodding in agreement, shaking his head vigorously.

He asks suddenly. “For ages Religion subsidiaries fought amongst themselves… claiming we are the best, greatest. Crusades further spread War… and Destruction. When fighting within the company is right, it becomes Crusade, Jihad… why not fighting Politics or Nation sub-brands?” he says.

Terrorist continues his argument.

“What is Taxes? Power of a Government over law-abiding, peaceful citizens? If Politics and Nation sub-brands can hold that power… why can’t we Terrorists? Why should Politics be above Religion? Why should our form injustice be unacceptable? Why does Politics and Nation sub-brands think September 11 is the last?”

“Why should Revolution be acceptable during some times… especially when Nation dubs it Freedom Fight, but not at other times… why does Violence need Political and Religion’s sanction… when their own purposeless misuse consistently no longer lends them any extra credibility?” Terrorist asked.

“The agenda for the century is established… we shall restore the glory of Religion at any cost. Glory not only for the various subsidiaries in their battle against each other… but over Ideas, Civilization, Politics and the Supermarket in all. And if denied our goal, we will take up Terrorism to the logical conclusion of making it impossible for Politics to operate… and collaborate with Violence in launching Annihilation,” he warned.

Religious Fundamentalist spelled out his agenda. “We demand that every Nation sub-brand bring out the glory of Religion… and let us capture the Market together. Else, to ensure this Secularism humbug is cleared off the Market shelves… we shall launch Terrorism. You, Nation sub-brands, are with us or against us.”

Launching a tirade against Politics and several Nation sub-brands in particular, he warned them of dire consequences. “This is the century of Terrorism… and all the centuries to come afterwards would also belong to us. No ‘Fight’ that Politics launches against can deter us. We have a proven history of Supreme-Sacrifice… this will be on till we emerge ultimate winners.”

Stating that they had overwhelming support in all the segments of Patrons in the Supermarket, the duo launched into shrill rhetoric. “We are the most prestigious subsidiary of Violence today… Patrons want us. Who cares for the features of Peace combined with Purity of Values… when Violence can begets more features, better, and at a better price option. Who cares for the love of the honest penny when the lure of the unearned billions is around? Who would want the Hug of Fidelity from the Vitreous Wife when the call of concubines, mistresses and extra-marital lovers comes?”

The duo raged on.

“Who wants to take the bitterness of Truth throwing taunting gestures on your face in the name of reality in contrast to the grandest fantasy of mythology and populist lies? Who can stop us from pushing ourselves and our products through our myriad of alliances and cross-alliances and disguised joint ventures – making it indistinguishable for Patrons to reject us – every time they choose Religion or Politics.”

“Lest no one ever told you, let us tell you… Reason sucks. No one wants them… and we are the only ultimate alternative.”

I have been aware...since the day I have read your book...The Spiritual Supermarket...that it is one of those rare ones that remind you of your past...show you your present and hint at your very probable future...

Reading what others have written is routine...Reading what you want to is...Well....I shall leave it at that...The one from Oregon joins me in this...
