Rosaiah upset State's 10 Earth Hours a Day ignored by World

Deeply upset over the little or no credit given to the State of Andhra Pradesh for its sustained multiple Earth Hour over the last decade, Chief Minister Konijeti Rosaiah told Sedition and Perdition that despite having one of the highest environment-friendly levels of power supply in the world, the State was not getting credit for its achievement and he was therefore keen to boycott the so-called Earth Hour.

In an exclusive interview with Sedition and Perdition, he explained that AP was observing three to four earth hours a day uninterrupted for the last few years. "We are having no power, lights, fans, ACs or anything... just no power, or green power as we call it for all domestic users. We have also converted all industrial and commercial users to 24-7 power users to green power users with at least three to four Earth Hours being imposed on them. Yet, does anyone recognize our efforts?"
Rosaiah also explained how the Congress government had converted the villages of Andhra Pradesh into the "greenest of zones in the world", with over 16 Earth Hours everyday since a decade. "Every village is contributing to making the State green, by having absolutely no... oops, green power. What has the State received in return?"
Elaborating on the government programme to continue the initiative, Rosaiah explained, "We will continue with hours of green power, rudely and wrongly called power cuts by the media and a few realists, for all users including domestic, commercial and industrial. However, we will not observe the Earth Hour along with the rest of the planet as we are very upset with the lack of recognition."
When questioned by SedPerd about the lack of transparency and equality, the Chief Minister shied away and refused to elaborate, saying "some important functionaries like politicians and bureaucrats are exempted from the direct green movement because of their larger commitments."
Rosaiah was particularly upset that Abhishek Bachchan went and met Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit for promoting the Earth Hour and discuss plans to go blank for a "mere hour" but making much noise about it. "Why did Abhishek not come and meet me, or recognise our State despite so many Earth Hours?" he asked angrily .
"Andhra Pradesh is the greenest of zones in the world, with less than 30 per cent power supply per day on an average. I am delighted to have contributed to making this possible... if no one recognises us for it, so be it. We will express our love for the planet and make attempts to save it, with or without cynics who call it power cuts, or without Abhishek Bachchan,” said Rosaiah angrily, refusing to answer any further questions.

In a related development, Chief Ministers of 15 other Indian States questioned the achievements of Rosaiah, claiming to be observing more Earth Hours everyday in their respective States, with some claims mounting to 20 hours. ‘‘Indian villages abound which don’t light up anything using carbon fuels or electric power at all… what is so great an achievement here?” they asked.
Meanwhile, while the world prepares to go lights-off for an hour to save the planet, villagers suffering from 15 hours or more of power cuts regularly, wondered what SedPerd were talking about when questioned about Earth Hour. "Are people a concern when you save this earth," they asked SedPerd, who had no answer, but used the excuse of filing a report to run away from their miserable surroundings.
"But the earth will be safe..." the duo concluded for the sake of writing this article.
