"Yes, after having analysed all options we have decided that we should support all these options, including a unified Andhra Pradesh, separate Telangana, creation of three States of each region - Andhra, Telangana and Rayalaseema; creation of Seema-Andhra, making Hyderabad the capital of Telangana, declaring Hyderabad a joint capital for any or all of these States, or creating a separate forth entity of the twin cities by creating a separate Union Territory," declared Chandrababu Naidu to SedPerd.
"As a responsible political party reflecting and backing the aspirations of various sections of people in the State, keen to get votes from everybody, oops, no, keen to stand for the views and opinions of all regions, we have decided to support all possible options," Naidu told SedPerd."We took a principled stand before the 2004 elections in the State in favour of a unified State, but the voters rejected the stand. Five years later, we tied-up with TRS to support a separate statehood for Telangana but it cut no ice with the voters. We have therefore decided that we will do a Congress and support not just both, but all possible options," said Naidu.
Little concerned about his erstwhile Vision 20:20 having been completely sidetracked and buried, Naidu said that he hopes his support-all approach would win the party, which started celebrations of its 29th anniversary, the votes of all people. "It must be that all people in the State must support one of these options... since we reflect their thinking, they must back us."
Having tried all options as an Opposition leader, including launching his party's electoral battle with several movie stars from the NTR family , opposing and supporting the Telangana movement, having an electoral understanding with the BJP and Communists at various times, opposing and supporting reforms, and then turning a supporter of electoral sops, populist moves and for giving a wide range of subsidies, Naidu confessed to SedPerd at being at his wit's end in trying to connect with the people of the State.
“Several people say I have lost the touch… from being a superstar performer of a Chief Minister and a Super Administrator who had the entire country and world eating out of his hand to an Opposition leader now on the verge of desperation. I am sure I can still perform wonders if I could become CM again. But how?” he cried out in pain and bewilderment.“There was a time,” Naidu recalled, “when everything I touched turned to gold… I had the Midas touch. Now, no matter what I do, things just don’t seem to matter, either to the people or the farmers, women or the youth, middle classes or the illiterate, employed or the jobless, rich or poor… nobody seems to care anymore.”
When quizzed by SedPerd if he brooded on not having pulled the plug on the Vajpayee government over the Godhra riots or having taken a more humane view about Naxalite violence or having paid more attention to ryots during his reign, he just helplessly shrugged his shoulders.

"Maybe, maybe... one has so many viewpoints but can take only one decision. I might have been wrong."
Laughing in his unique no-laughter manner, Naidu declared, "We will do away with such approaches to having to take one-sided decisions. From now on, the TDP will take a decision to support all sides to any issue," he declared.
"Starting with Telangana, you will find the Telugu Desam on the right side of all issues for all segments at all times in all places. That should do the trick, ha, ha, ha."
